Wednesday

Well, as you know I have been talking about this knitting class some of us gals have been taking. It will be a felted purse . I have been making a little progress on mine.  It is actually about half way done, and you can see the colors pretty well, so here it is.

 

I think I will like it, but the fun comes when we felt them. since it is wool feltable yarn , it should be interesting.

Also in knitting class Monday my fellow employee Debbie gave me a wonderful, stack of 3 sisters for Moda 5 inch squares 48 in all   of Shangri-la.  Thank you Debbie.

 

I'm working on a quilt out of some left over fabric from my daughters blue apron. It had wonderful pink roses, the fabric was barefoot roses by Tanya Whelan.  I keep making block and then it still isn't big enough so I do something else.  If I get it to a place where it looks coherent I will  take a picture for you.  I'm not much of a quilter but this  quilt I can't see,to leave alone. I have to keep running to the quilt store over at the next town, because I don't have a stash.  Well, I kinda to.

 

Now I just had a thought, If I didn't always have this kind of stash, I could make my quilt smaller.

This is the latest shop rug, for Saltbox Primitive Woolens,  I am doing.  Pictures have been few and far between, than I realized I can print them, scan them into the computer, more trouble, but at least I will be able to show you some pictures, so Idecided to get busy tonight, and what only one piece of photo paper.

So I will just tell you I went back to knitting class  and since I had ripped mine all out and started over I feel more confident of what I am doing.   Now I need to get 15 more rows on the needles so I can learn to add on a new color.

I am working on a little quilt but since I have no paper to scan a picture into the computer there is not since in talking about it.

Than my friend Debbie gave me  charm pack of Moda Shangri-la fabric. Beautiful stuff thank you Debbie.

We have had a bunch of rain and more coming.

Well, my main objective tomorrow is, Get to Wal Mart and get some photo paper.

Knitting

Well, Monday I went to a beginner knitting class.  Now tell me , why would 5 women who are in the age range of menopausal to medicare, decide they want to learn to knit.  Let me tell you there was some belly laughing going on.  The mission statement for this group is" something bad just happened and I am afraid to move" translated," I've dropped  a couple stitches and don't know how to get them back".

I have a few pictures but of course not all wanted to be shown, so they stayed in the camera.

 

 

 

I think eventually you will see some felted bags on this blog. But it might be a bit if we keep starting over.  I will keep you posted.

baby shower

I forgot to show you pictures of the the refreshments from a baby shower I went to yesterday.  It is my friend Peggy's granddaughter, making it Peggy's first great grand child.  They know it is a boy and the daddy being a sports fan, the cakes were of course in different ball themes, made by the grandmother, she did a great job.

But look at the punch bowl, how funny and clever and cute.

Sunday

I decided my life is boring, because I don't keep my eyes open to God's beauty around me.  So on the way to the shop Friday look what I spotted at the end of the dam road. God is good.

 

He left the tree and soared above the water on the reservoir side of the dam for some time, but did not come back to the tree.  We see them often around the lake but they are usually in the air and hard to catch on camera.

I have a couple rug hooking pictures from open hooking day Friday.

 

This is Marsha's flag rug. We love Marsha at the shop, she was a God send. She put all our accounting on excel and has us so organized, what a burden has been lifted. Paper work was so hard for us to keep up with.

 

This is Sharon's rabbit design, Sharon is our favorite brownie maker.  Isn't her rabbit cute, but you haven't seen anything yet.  Look at these bunnies.

 

Sharon raises them and I didn't even get to see them, I wondered why Patty wanted me to leave my camera at the shop when I left that day.  I'm afraid I would have been bringing one home had I seen them.  They are so sweet.

 

I had a girlfriend, that called this color rabbit a Holstein. Really looks like a Galloway to me. Galloway being the cow that is black with the white around the middle.  Such an educational blog.

 

Look at the M&M gang(Max and Molly) meeting the bunnies. Max is looking up at Patty's sister Linda saying "Your aren't thinking of replacing us are you?"

Yesterday the gang went to Springfield to a hook in and I got the cutest picture on email of them saying Hi to me.  Wish I would have been there, I have a Internet friend from Shabby Sheep blog I was hoping to meet.  Maybe one day it will happen.

Well, I need to get ready for Sunday School and Church, talk to you soon.

Boring

I am thinking my life is boring, because I can't seem to think of anything real interesting to talk about with the exception of rug hooking.  That in itself I could talk about all day.  In fact I ran down to the shop tonight because Patty had a small group that works for the local newspaper come in for a beginner class. They are making that cute little bag to keep there hook and scissors in.

They really were having fun.  They are coming back another time to finish up the background and sew the front and backs together.

I have finished my daughters binding on her hooked runner and will soon get it in the mail back to her. Daughter, I will use the money I found in my car after Vince moved my car and loaded it for me.  Sneaky sneaky.

Yesterday's sky

Did you see the sky yesterday morning.  What a way for the Lord to say Good Morning on Easter Sunday.

 

Today at the shop(yes, your right we aren't open on Monday) but it was the first  once a month Quilt gathering day, held by Tammy our tea room hostess. I managed to get a couple pictures.

 

Such young and happy colors with advise for all ages.

 

I love leaves and acorns, so as soon as we can get the pattern in the shop, this will be a project I will start.

I have a list of all the events coming up at the shop, BUT, don't you just know something is coming after that word But, I have misplaced it.  So I will get you up dated ASAP.

I know this Saturday is a hook in in Springfield, sorry Sherri, I won't be coming, someone has to stay at the shop and since I don't travel well, I'll be at the shop so I think you all need to get with Patty and plan a Saturday to come to Warsaw, How about it?????

Home again

Got home today after a much needed granddaughter fix.

When I arrived Sunday all was well, but by Monday morning my granddaughter was running a fever, so she was home from school for 2 days.  She went back to school on Wednesday.  My daughter and I did some running.

We are having a knitting class at the shop the 20 and 27th of this month so some supplies were needed.  My daughter took me to a neat yarn shop called The Studio. Such great wool yard, yummy colors. So got my yarn to learn to knit.

My daughter and some of her friends had just had a knitting lesson last week end, so guess who taught Nannie how to knit.  You guessed it 9 years old granddaughter.  So I will know a little about what I am trying to do when I go to class.

The yarn is still out in the car, haven't had time to bring it in yet.

My granddaughter has found that she loves martial arts, so when she was well enough to go to school Wednesday and Thursday than we went to taekowdo(sp) those nights also.  She is awesome.

We did get in some  rug hooking.

 

I think she picked really nice colors.

We also got allot of extra cut wool wrapped into balls and in a wire basket.

I'm trying to organized for Sunday dinner with hubby, dad, and brother.

Today Saltbox Primitive Woolens had a great group of gals in for projects.

We had  rug hooking, crocheting, and knitting all going on.
