Primitive Satellite

I am obviously not the poster woman for Hughesnet.  Today my signal started out at 21 after having been down to 1 yesterday and this evening it is 72. Way to much unstableness.

I am here at home waiting for company that flew from California to Tulsa, rented a car and drove to see a daughter in Springdale Arkansas, than left there to drive here ..  So while sitting waiting for them earlier we watched 2 doe's and 2 young deer come out of the woods and walk around the neighbors yard.  Than out stepped a buck with some good antlers.   He began to creep over toward the females and did he get reprimanded. One gal ran him off.

Well, company is here, and I am about to tired to visit, I have to remember they are on California time. Be nice.

Saltbox hurricane

Wow, Yesterday was like a hurricane at the shop, we were so busy.

Speaking of hurricanes,  I pray for the people in the path of this monster.  May they be safe.

Patty is in Indiana vending and I had the shop for the last two days. Yesterday was so busy. It was hooking day for the regulars and I started a new girl who came probably 45 miles to learn. We are just having so much fun.  Also 3 ladies came up from Springfield, it is always so much fun to meet other hookers.  Today was a slower day due to all the rain , so I got some dusting and sweeping done in the shop and a little hooking.

My daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter were being moved into their new house during all the rain yesterday and today.  They are about 100 miles from me and they said it was a monsoon all day with tornado warnings all evening.  But they are in their new house and I can't wait to get up there the end of October to spend a week..

Hubby had an appointment in Lee's Summit Thursday afternoon , if we get finished in time we may slip by the new house for just a few minutes. That way hubby can see it since he won't be going up in October when I go, some one has to stay with the dog and since it is his dog, guess what. !

I am still having lot of trouble with hughesnet.  they are sending someone out Tuesday, I've had to wait a week. My signal flucuates from 70 to 2.  Not very easy to access anything at a number 2 signal. In fact it is impossible.

We are having company from California tomorrow evening for the night so need to do a little cleaning. Even tho the motor home doesn't go often due to gas prices, it sure comes in handy when company comes.

Will keep you posted on the hookin, again it is Sept 27th Saturday from 10 till 4 cost is $12.00.

weather

Boy, has the weather been playing heck with the satellite hook up. At least I hope the is what it is, and it isn't my computer. Anyway, slower than a turtle the last couple days.  I could tell you a whole bunch about Hughes net, but I wouldn't be pretty.

So I have been hooking on blocks of the month to try to get all 12 done so we can have examples.  Here is the single star and the moose.  Poor moose looks rather lonely doesn't he.

 

 

There is something about that star that reminds me of Sponge Bob Square Pants. Must be the shape, oh yea we call that primitive.

My husband has been picking apples off our tree the last couple days. They taste really good but aren't pretty to look at, since we are novice apple growers and don't do any spraying.  We have given some away and got a good apple pie in return.

How was your weather is morning.  It is so much like fall here in Missouri I am ready for a campfire and some hotdogs.  Ok now I am hungry and I haven't had breakfast.  I am thinking about a bacon and egg sandwich with miracle whip and onions.

primitive week end

Well, it is the week-end for all those who work.  Enjoy it to the fullest.

Last night was a womens gathering at church, you should have seen the cake.  The whole theme was about purses, and the cake was a purse, it was so pretty.Should learn to carry my camera.  Anyway,everyone that came brought all their purses they are not using, and we donate them to 3 different womens shelters.  It was amazing how many donated purses we had. Why do we all have so much "stuff" that we are not using. 

Today I work at Saltbox, I was there yesterday, and we were so busy, lots going on getting ready for another beginner class Sept 23 and a hook in Sept 27.  New wool is in and getting washed.  I am hooking a little square of each new piece so it can be preview before bought. It is always fun to see how it is going to look hooked.

I am excited, Maggie Bonanomi is going to be in Independence to teach a class in Octoberat Janice Johnsons,  hoping to go to that.  Than maybe we can talk to her about coming to Warsaw to teach a class.

 

This is a block of the month I just finished, it was so much fun to hook, don't ya just love chickens. I mean really.  Patty said her chicken are just now starting to lay. What fun to have your own eggs, and snakes and raccoons, and possums.  What a kill joy I am. Maybe Buzz the big black Lab will keep them away from the chickens.

Well, I feel as tho fall has begun. Kids are back in school, not that I have any that age, but Wal Mart is less crowded.  Sad isn't it blaming the kids for a crowd at Wal Mart, they just didn't build a big enough one, at least not for a resort town in the summer. Oh well, what do I care, they don't sell wool anyway, and if they did the quality would not be up to par.

Don't worry Patty, I'll never buy from anyone else.

wool applique quilt, I am so fortunate to have one like it in different colors that Patty made for me.  I am now getting the borders on it to make it fit a queen size bed, than it will go to the quilters.

Actually the title to this post was blocks of the month, I came home from the shop with 4 block to do.

I have a chicken, a star, a moose, and a bird with flowers.  I have my work cut out for me for the next week or so, so I guess we can go ahead and get all the rain they are talking about for this area.  Up to 8 inches, as long as we don't loose electricity I will be a happy hooker.

I am excited some of us may go to take a class with Maggie Bonanomi, I sure hope I spelled her name correctly. I have always like her style.
