I promised you pictures and those I have, I just don't know all the names in the group or the rug designers.  We had such a great time, and Patty and her sister did a wonderful job with lunch and all things that go into having a hook-in. We had lots of people walk in to see what was going on with all the cars in the parking lot.

These chickens were so great.  All the same piece of wool, just dyed different colors. I loved the border. This one was Nelda Johnson, that I know because she is part of the Warsaw Group. Sorry about the toes.

 Isn't he cute, he actually has bells on his jacket.

 

This one I know, it is Minnie Vaughn's, she is our Senior hooker here at Warsaw, I love everything she does. 

I am going to close for this evening by asking you all out there, to pray for strength from Jesus to carry Patty and her family and sister Linda and sister Jackie through the next week as today during the hook in they learned they had a sister in North Dakota pass away.  

Today at the shop

Fall is for sure in the air at Saltbox Primitive Woolens.

 

The door next to the bicycle is to the class room.  It has it's own heating and cooling system and restroom but is also  accessible from inside the shop.  It is just perfect.

Next is the block of the month so far 11 done, it is above the entrance in the shop.

 

This is Patty the shop owner working on a fall pumpkin. I love the pumpkin color she has chosen. She made me say that,  just kiddin.

this is my third try to show you happy jack, I found him when looking for something else, It's a memory thing.

 

I was so excited when I found him, I just slapped him up there with blue stickpin, I didn't want to take a chance of loosing him again.

Excuse any misspelled words, I am running late for hooking day, This is my third attempt at getting this done this morning. Whoops I already said that didn't I. ?

Patty's sister Linda is coming today to help Patty with the hook in tomorrow and those two are so much fun. Patty's husband Ozzie says when he goes to bed, he can hear those two and their feet just scurring around the house creating.

Don't you just know by the title of this post that I have messed something up.  The little knob on my camera got turned from automatic focus to no telling what,  I only know how to work automatic on my camera.  So rather than a whole lot of pictures for you I have a whole lot of people in one picture.

 

Now Max thought  sleeping on a rug was a better idea than working on a rug

 

These next two rugs were from open hooking last week, hooked by Nelda Johnson, they are from the postcard series.  Sorry I don't remember who the designer is.  Nelda is one of our advanced hookers, who is always ready to share her knowledge with others.

Well, I have been fighting a evening feeling of headache, scratchy throat, kinda achy.  I'm hanging in tho, can't miss the first hook in at Saltbox Primitive woolens.

Primitive Law

Primitive Law, you know his name, MURPHYson,. Isn't it his law that would cause a water leak a day before a new class.  Now I should rephrase that, it was not a leak it was a geyser. Not to worry, all is well.  But there were some unsure moments.

I hope I will have lot of pictures to post tomorrow evening.

In the mean time I will introduce you to my daughter, son-in-law and precious granddaughter, that would be one of my precious granddaughters. I have two. But only one belongs to my daughter.

 

Mom and dad were off to a fund raiser for the school Valerie attends and Valley and I were hanging out for the evening.  We play alot of board games and card games.

Let me see if I can find a picture of my oldest granddaughter, Megan she turned 21 last Saturday. 

Obviously this is not Megan, but it is her dad, my son. I can't find Megan's wedding pictures in "My Pictures" I put some on a CD and they must be there.  So Megan if you read this send me some pictures. Megan has 6 sugar gliders, they remind you of flying squirrels,  I'm thinking hooked rug here.  Small little animals with really big eyes.

So tomorrow is a beginner class , so I will be taking pictures.  I will be there for the  1:00 class, but can't stay for the 5:30 one, my night to take dinner to my dad.

Saltbox Primitive Woolen

Our weather is just beautiful.  Such cool mornings and warming in the afternoon.  This morning we had fog for awhile, but that is just because we are having cool mornings and the water temperature is warmer than the air.  It doesn't take long for it to move out.

I spent the day at the rug hooking shop, Patty is getting ready for a beginner rug hooking  class on Tuesday.  Between her 1 oclock class and her 5:30 class she has about 14 women coming.  Makes you wonder in a town of 2070 people where they all come from. That population count is in town only, We have many, many resort and campground area's.  Women are looking for something to do while their men fish.

I am so excited for Patty she has people coming all the time. I love being at the shop and talking to people and telling them about the art of rug hooking.

I have a few pictures  of the end of summer.

The end of the crab apple tree, they kinda look like persimmons, don't they, but if they were we sure wouldn't touch them till after a hard frost. Well, you could touch them, just don't eat them or you will feel like you have a mouth full of cotton. Now how would I know that.?

What a sweet dog she is, if you get a chance to pet her that is, she is always in motion.

Primitive busy day

So happy today is a day I don't have to do anything but hook.

Yesterday was way to busy for me. Hubby and I felt the house, went by a friends house to water her plants while she is in Colorado. Went to Sedalia to have a tire on my car looked at that won't hold air. Went to Greenwood to look at the Cottages, wanted to see what they were all about. Than we went to lee's summit for husbands Dr. appt.  Nothing new, continue on .  Than we went to Leawood to see my daughters new house, it is beautiful.  They are still waiting on somethings since they just moved last week end. Had I known we were going to have time to see the house,  I would have taken my camera.  Than we went back to Sedalia (100 miles) but on the way home and had chinese dinner, bought gas and a Benton County paper and made it back home by 7 p.m.  So the drive was beautiful , seeing the new house was beautiful. I will be going up in November to stay awhile without hubby so we can talk, and shop and decorate.  Not that my daughter needs my help she has a wonderful style of her own.  Sorry it is not primitive.  But it is beautiful and young and new. Sometime I will put a picture of the three of them up for you to see.

Thought I'd show you some little strawberry pincushion gifts I bought of Etsy the other day.  Of course they are hand made, since that what Etsy is all about. Nicole West is the maker and they are beautifully made and they shipping was faster than fast.

So my font changed,but I don't have time to worry about it. Today is open hooking and I am off to the shop, this time I have my camera. 

Also I have to check the big Hickory nut tree next to the shop to see if they are falling yet. That is my dad's favorite thing to do in the fall is crack, and pick out hickory, walnut, and pecans.  

Primitive Visit

Well, company has been here and gone.  Like I said they are from California. My husband calls this man brother, they are really not related.  When my husband and his x wife and 4 children moved to California in the 1950's with no job or money, this mans father gave my now husband a job.  They have been dear friends ever since.  Listening to some of the stories of things they did back than is so funny and they were so onery.  But we took them out to breakfast and how do you explain to people from California they are in the frying capitol of Missouri and therefore there is no fruit on the menu. We have a great visit, they own the lot next to our house and think someday they will build next to us. They better hurry, none of us are getting any younger.

Thought I would show you the last of summer here in Warsaw.

  Pretty sad HUH, well they were good at one point. I think I see a spider web in there should I leave it for Halloween? 

I think maybe today I will get out some of my fall wreaths and decorate the front porch while I am waiting for the satellite internet people.

My number one granddaughter turns 21 on Saturday, can I believe it NO>  She is married to a sweet guy who is her high school sweet heart. They are both very motivated, hard working, God loving young people, I know they will do well in life. I am pround of her. Can't you tell.

OK believe I will go to the garage and hunt out some fall decor. Since the garage sale a couple weeks ago, things should be easy to find.
